INTRODUCTION

This essay will investigate the representations of children in a variety of Horror films. I will use films from the early nineteen hundreds in which children were used because of it's eerie and unnatural nature, on the other hand I will use modern horrors where the children are the protagonists of the film and are victims to adult themes and issues. I will then evaluate the difference in how children have been used, furthermore using context to establish not only why these changes have occurred, but why children have been used in horror movies at all? I will observe how audiences may react differently due to their demographic and psychographics.
