The Manchester Evening News:
I would argue that the MEN puts the Human Interest and Nearness combined to decide on their most important stories. Because the paper is local the nearness of the story is important to the reader as they are buying this paper because of its demographic. Furthermore the human interest is vital as people read stories that appeal to them on an emotional level, as they can relate to them.
The Sun:
I believe The Sun is the most successful British newspaper because of the way it attracts it's target audience by using simple language and using such language to talk about stories that are; new, about people that are in the public interest and are also slightly odd.
The Telegraph:
The Telegraph being the quality paper of the three writes more about true news stories in which contains news about politics across the world, news which has consequence to the reader such as business and also about people who are in the public eye for doing something that can be seen as memorable. Also as a paper they must try to include news that is new and put stories in the paper immediately after they find out.
